This kind of work is so easy. Wax the s**t out of your mould, apply a bit of resin over it all before the first layer of? glass or whatever so you get an even saturation within the material, apply layers but make sure you have sufficient resin between layers. Roll ALL air out (but make sure you don't over saturate and f**k the glass or core), leave excess resin or screet off with a rubber screet.

You could make the ...
You could make the entire freakin' car out of carbon fiber if you wanted to........and had some time. Just check out the cars of the American Le Mans series (is that still around, anyone? not kept up). The only things NOT carbon fiber on those? cars were the drive trains and a few other parts.

i dont understand now so hes makign the mode for carbon fiber because in clip 4 the finished parts looks in grey color and carbon fiber doesnt look black right and second how did he melt that carbon? fiber into mode shape he didnt show it on video

1. No gelcoat for ...
1. No gelcoat for carbon fiber, just resin. You won't see the carbon. 2. Get PVA? from Fiberglass Services in Gardena, CA (carbon cloth, fiberglass, epoxy etc etc as well. They supply surfboard makers, they have everything, they're super cheap, and very very nice) 3. PVA should be sprayed on, not wiped on. Good luck.

Thanks for watching. Nope. Since it was just a "practice" workshop, we just put resin on the carbon fiber & on the mold. I was? told we could've gelcoated 1st.

very very thin, the ...
very very thin, the thickness of the fabric itself is like a 64th of an inch. Small pieces unravel really easily though so you may want to put some sort of backing on it before you cut it. I would use a nice pair of scissors. Depending on what you're inlaying in you can just cut route the inlay about twice as deep as you need, lay? the fabric in with a little adhesive and drown it in bartop epoxy... sand and polish once its dry and voila! Do not work with Epoxy Resin, Polyester Resin, Hardener, without safety goggles because it is very difficult to remove from your eye. Being careful, it took me a whole year to get one? splash on my goggles, but I did it.

The idea of spraying PVA? (poly vinyl alcohol) is to build up even uniform layers. Slopping it around is not a good idea unless you're really know what you're doing and let it full dry.

pva: wait until ...
pva: wait until dull (dry)- just a few minutes. epoxy: can take all day/depends on air temp. wait? until fully dry.

how long does he leave the epoxy and pva to set before laying up?, because? when i finished the lay up the wax sort peeled off(stuck to the cf part lol)
